Ford Falcon FG1 and FG2 BCM differences and programming – what not to do

Ford Falcon body control modules FG1 & FG2

A vehicle came in this week and BCM replaced with new unit supplied from ford, a local locksmith had carried out key programming and parameter reset, got the vehicle started (cool)

Post starting the vehicle, the vehicle locks did not work correctly and the BCM configuration thought it was a 4wd and a wagon ( no way)
1. the door ajar switch is open when door closed and closed when door open.
so the BCM is wired differently or opposite in the FG2 Compared with the FG1

so off to read both units and compare the data the original part number of The FG series 1 Ute, 8R29-14K144-AA, UNT ASY ELETR RLY SW (BEM)
The FG series 2 Ute BCM supplied ER2T-14A073-AA, BOX ASY FS JCT PNL (BCM)

FG1 – 8R29-14K144-AA, UNT ASY ELETR RLY SW (BEM)
FG2 – ER2T-14A073-AA, BOX ASY FS JCT PNL (BCM)

Im not a smart guy but the part number is an instant issue. and the fact that the modules are actually called different parts,
we know from the past for trying to fit an FG1 HVAC unit into an FG2 the temperatures and blend doors do not work.

FG1 BCM AS built data codes
FG2 BCM AS built data codes

Data Comparision

The as-built block data on FG1 stops at 726-08-0c
The as-built data blocks on FG2 stops at 726-09-01

Bingo install the correct module if dealing with this issue

Programming blank BCM into FG1 Or FG2

grab some genuine ford software and reflash the BCM to change identity,
